Pre-built databases, like RS Means, may give you a starting point, but only your own data, specific to your company, area, and niche, will be meaningful.

I am a professional residential estimator. When I am working in a remote desktop (terminal services) session, and print a report (any report) I either get one line per page (so a 3 page report becomes a 150 page report) or I get only one page to print even though I know it should be 3 pages long. When I print to screen, it shows page 1 of 1. When I work on the same laptop in the office and access MB locally, the printing works just fine. I have other Windows 7 Pro laptops and desktops and all of them print fine when in Terminal Services. I've compared the settings in the Remote Desktop Options and all the settings are the same. Any thoughts?Mariehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11692678827677431982noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1562735612491353553.post-23369232182031345812010-04-27T23:14:05.233-07:002010-04-27T23:14:05.233-07:00Sorry for the lag in responding to the comments. ...Sorry for the lag in responding to the comments. Sage Master Builder Version 14 (and higher) is Windows 7 compatible. The newer versions will also run in 64 bit environments although I am unsure how much benefit one will get with 64 bit and SMB. As always, avoid the Home and Home Premium versions of the operating system - stick with Business or Professional versions.Walt Mathiesonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08888312479390333112noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1562735612491353553.post-69530625036088845562010-04-23T01:00:28.207-07:002010-04-23T01:00:28.207-07:00Any further developments about Sage Master Builder...Any further developments about Sage Master Builder software for Windows 7? I assume you only have Basic Care to receive the software updates and upgrades or else the telephone tech support available with the Total Care plan would solve this problem for you. Many of our clients subscribe to the Basic Care plan and then call us on the rare occasion when they have a problem.

This may be a quick and simple fix, but first I recommend running the Sage System Verifier, found in Start>All Programs>Sage>Sage Sytem Verifier 1.1. Im sticking with xp pro and server 2003 for awhile yet.

I upgraded 13.4 to 14 and now have been having a heck of a time trying to get the clients to connect to the licence server.

Every once in awhile (usually after rebooting the server and clients) it seems to connect fine one time, but then if the users exit and try to re-open Sage MB the get a message declaring the licence server could not be connected to.

The software is extremely expensive, and there is no support (access to a lack luster KB is not support) without extra cost. Its one of those issues I am sure would only take a minute to resolve. I probably just need to map something somewhere, the instructions for updating the software tells you to update the licences (done) then is says something about designating who will be connecting (but I have yet to find any instructions on HOW that is actually accomplished) I've only been supporting MB for a few weeks now, and I already don't like it. I find it needlessly unintuitive and the support non-existent as if it was designed purely for milking support fees out of clients.
